Unlike its established competitors which caters mainly to non-adventurous tastebuds, Bombay Central sticks closely to its ethnic roots and delivers a punch in its flavour and taste. The chicken is succulent, juicy and tender whereas the curry is aromatic and flavoursome. It is still far cry from those I have tried in Bangalore, Mumbai, Singapore or Malaysia but still a commendable effort.
Bombay Beef (coconut based sauce), Lamb Korma (peanut based sauce) and Butter Chicken (tomato based sauce) looked so irresistable in the bain-marie i opted for the 3 choice meat with rice combo. Depends what you like but next im going all Lamb baby. So succulent and tender was this dish and enhanced by the fresh garlic cheese naan
An Indian stall at Central Park's food court! I was immediately struck by a sense of deja vu! I wasn't too hungry, so I just went for a single vegetable Samosa, which was served with mint chutney. It was pretty good, and I was instantly reminded of my days in India! Being in the food court, it does have ample seating. The price, I felt was slightly high, at $2.50 for 1 samosa. I would still want to try out their other dishes sometimes, though. Food - 4.5/5 Service - 4.5/5 Ambiance - 4/5 Value for money - 3/5 Overall - 4/5
Nothing wrong with it but nothing great either. The upstairs Central Park food court has the usual international takeaways - Thai, Mexican, Japanese, Malaysian & a few others - and Bombay Central is an adequate Indian & curry option. $10 for 2 vege curries on rice with a thin pappadam on top is much more than you'd pay at other food courts, but I guess the other places here would cost much the same, there'd be a premium for the view. Plate was big, service friendly, chick peas & potato/pea curries were OK. There's wifi, plenty of room to sit & eat, & you can eat outside with a great outlook over the south/west skyline. Not sure this is a dining destination in itself, but if I was a UTS student I'd be sitting up here & studying & eating all day....
Favourite indian place ever! Great little lady who is sweet and patient, and recommends great food too! You get little freebies as an added bonus, usually at $10 per person. The food is always good here and I've been here so many times! Best for curry of all kinds.
