Holy Duck! - Chippendale

We visited this street on a Monday night and chose this restaurant. Sydney was unseasonally warm for July so we were able to sit outside by one of those gas heaters. Food was great. Wine list simple but sufficient and matched the food well. There are a large number of new restaurants to try in this relatively new strip just off the Broadway.

Stopped by for a bite after seeing an advert. Tried the duck burger which was quite nice and the fries were just as good, maybe even better.

Four of us went there for dinner last night, the restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere and it's around the corner from Spice Lane, so walkable from the CBD.A limited wine list with over inflated prices meant that we brought our own ($10 per bottle corkage, which is not terrible).We started with the platter which included duck, BBQ pork and roast pork belly. This was really delicious. The boys wanted the crab wontons which were super ordinary...remember what those awful deep fried "money bags" used to taste like? That's what these were, so avoid them. The scallops were the roeless translucent white ones, and the sliced fish was swimming in thick cornflour sauce.Verdict...the BBQ duck and pork are the clear winners here, steer clear of the other stuff.

What an awesome find. We came across this restaurant by accident when exploring and decided to book in for dinner. We weren't disappointed the food was yummy! I can recommend the steamed scallops and the roast holy duck deboned.
