Le Cottage - Chonas-l'Amballan

This restaurant has it all .. helpful, friendly staff, delicious food and a garden that is the perfect place to enjoy each dish and soak up the calm, relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was so helpful with my allergies, ensuring everything was gluten free, even bringing...me delicious warm, gluten free bread to soak up the scrumptious sauces. My starter was tender white asparagus, with mousseline sauce on the side, followed by a perfectly cooked plaice fillet on a bed of wild rice with grilled, sweet tomatoes and amazing lobster sauce, finally a desert of assorted fresh fruit. Every dish looked and tasted wonderful. My husband had the menu Les Fontanet, this consisted of courses for a set price of Cors starter was tartare of tuna with vegetables of the sun, followed by duck breast fillet with a purée of green peas, new potatoes and a tasty sauce and for desert a fancy, fresh strawberry tart. He said every dish he ate, was superb. We also had a large bottle of water and cup of coffee, for all this our bill was Exceptional value for money for such amazing food .. we will be back on our way down south, next year.

Sorry to tell, but please do cancel your Tripadvisor certificate. It is a beautiful place with about seats outdors, but one waiter only (July at You get their special water without being asked, and then you wait. And you wait. And you...wait. And then you go.

Very good quality terrace meals, pleasant service reasonable price for very good evening

Very nice setting, the kitchen is refined. The service is very pleasant and the card very supplied follows the vegetables and fruit of seasons.

We have found with pleasure the approval of the site, the shaded terrace, the spacing between the tables, the reception and the correct and friendly service. With regard to the menu, we who are not yet a supporter of the "great food", were surprised and disappointed by the very low quantities, especially for the entrance where the three small heads of coloured cabbage were below the decent minimum for an entry; then it was not much better for the three small pieces of pork then for the small portion of cake confirming this minimalist strategy.
