Esquires Cafe Northwood - Christchurch

I ordered an Americano for myself and a latte for my guest, along with a few cheese rolls. The service was prompt, and the staff were very courteous. I give it 5 stars because everything met my expectations.

The best gluten-free caramel slice and brownie I’ve ever had! The chai latte was also fantastic. The staff were lovely. The only downside is that the prices are a bit on the high side, but it’s definitely worth it.

Came for a quick coffee but was confronted by a loud Asian man serving who seemed a bit rude the way he handled customers. Basically asking customers to get things themselves but in a loud voice. Perhaps some training in how to handle customers here in NZ would be helpful. Sitting here I can hear 2 other customers complaining about the service.

Went there today with my sister and her grandson. Lovely customer service, coffee was perfect and those cheese rolls were amazing. I definitely will be back when I am in Christchurch again

Warning: a very long comment/review!!! I am NOT happy at all with The very RUDE staff who Serve us. Not very happy with my First experience to Dine at esquire Northwood that I wouldn’t recommend it to my Friends And family. Went out with my mother-in-law for the first time For A coffee and we Choose your cafe but it Happens the “Asian/Chinese male staff who serve us was VERY RUDE! I Asked what kind of pie is On display because it happens there’s no label on the said pie! And he was not answering me properly. The time we ordered coffee we told him it’s for dine-in but i noticed that my daughter slept while we’re waiting. So I asked him if it’s possible to put It in take-out the fluffy and he looked at me so Rude and told me, you should have told me before! So my mother-in-law forgot to tell him as well that the Large Latte we ordered is for take-out and we asked him to make the latter For a take out cup but acted again a very rude thing that he put his hand in the air as if he was so feed-up with us! I don’t even remember we did a thing that makes him that angry! But the whole experience with your staff is the thing that I have never experienced in every cafe that I have been to in my life and makes me so disappointed! Disappointed as well that our experience for the first outing For a coffee that I did with my mother-in-law is not nice! I do understand if a server/staff in any cafe is tired and he/she is going through with a hard times especially in this time around, but I know as well that if we are working as a customer service staff we need to set aside our personal problems so it won’t reflect to your customers.. I hope your staff should be corrected so it won’t happen on any other customers.
