The laksa had decent ingredients and tasted pretty good, but it wasn’t very authentic. It was missing two key ingredients: shrimp paste and coconut milk. While there was some coconut milk, it just wasn’t enough, and the shrimp paste seemed to be absent. As a result, it tasted more like curry soup. Still, it was enjoyable. As for the kuay teow, it was not bad. Again, it wasn’t authentic, but as chow fun, it tasted quite good. Most importantly, it had that wonderful 'wok hei' or flame flavor. You could really taste it when they did a good job of stir-frying. The seasoning was also well-balanced and not too greasy. Overall, good job!
The food is quite good, especially for lunch. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other places. There are plenty of options to choose from. Depending on the time you visit, finding a table might be a bit challenging. However, I didn’t have any trouble since I went during off-peak hours, although it was still busy with tourists. Overall, it's a solid choice and a great spot for tourists to explore.
The laksa is a wonderful combination of savory and spicy flavors. I highly recommend it!
As a Malaysian, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The char kuey teow and fried rice were both quite disappointing. It seemed like the ingredients were just tossed into a wok with some soy sauce, lacking any real flavor or attention to detail. Honestly, it's best to avoid this place to prevent disappointment.
