The food was delicious- full of flavour. The service was great too, really appreciated the personal attention and the clear pride in the cuisine.
After having visited this place to celebrate Ozzy's birthday, we now know why it is one among the most liked restaurants in Christchurch.<br/ <br/ Decor is simple and basic but hospitality and food is extraordinary by a successful professional, who left his high paying job, to pursue his passion food, is very much evident in his hospitality.<br/ <br/ Although not authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, there's lot of Mughlai and other modern influences on the dish, and the owner also confirmed that this is the food his mother used to cook at home, and not necessarily typical as they avoid using chillies.<br/ <br/ We ordered Crab meat stuffed in Potatoes Pockets, Bhuna Khichury with Lamb and Chicken with sesame seeds .<br/ <br/ Our favorite and the dishes of the day were Crab meat stuffed Potatoes and Chicken Sesame. Juicy succulent pieces of chicken cookednin a sweet and spicy gravy of pistachio and peanut..Was out of this world. Crab meat stuffed potatoes were full.of flavors.<br/ <br/ Lamb gravy with their version of Khichuri was good as well.<br/ <br/ Value for money compared to the experience our taste buds were offered. Good options for Vegans and Vegetarians.<br/ <br/ Must Visit.<br/ <br/
Just had dinner here an absolutely loved it! Sorry I don’t know the names of the items we had. But we highly recommend Nobanno for dinner, the food is flavoursome and not to Spicy. Great value for money. The staff also were fantastic, really lovely staff. If you are looking for a lovely dining experience with some delicious food then this is the place to come!
I excitedly went to Nobanno 's based on a friend 's soaringly high recommendations along with a Monday whim of curiosity and eager expectations. I departed the restaurant with mixed feelings and unsatisfied lingering hunger pangs. While it was an honour to dine in New Zealand 's 'only ' Bangladeshi restaurant and the cuisine was generally appetising, I didn 't leave overawed by the experience. The food took a lengthy time to arrive and when it finally arrived the main menu portions were extremely modest for the palate. The manager was hospitable enough. But, the waitress took time to warm to. It was a very costly outing for such meagre morsels of meat which were charred to the point of sin. At times, it was an excruciating swallow and danger to the dentalware. The service could be greatly improved to elevate the efficiency and efficacy of the delivery standards. If the service was this slow on a Monday, I pity the performance your patrons have to suffer on a Friday evening yet alone a weekend. I 'd highly encourage all to try the delicious flavours from this beautiful culture. The owner is certainly very passionate and proud of their culture and this fabulously shines through in a few of their signature dishes. But, chose carefully as not all dishes are created equal. I 'm glad I had the experience. However, I won 't be returning back any time soon. Our best wishes to the restauranteurs.
