The Apron Cafe - Christchurch

Thank you for your smile and all your kindness, your are a sunshine. If you go to Christchurch you have to try the coffee. The food is amazing and not expensive. I will be back!

Beware of scam: They held the eftpos machine when paying and it showed decline. I checked my acct and the payment had gone through. They made me pay twice and promised a refund if the payment was not cancelled by the bank. Needless to say, both payments went through. They have not responded to my messages requesting a refund. It has been over a week. Edit: this was a $24 charge, so I paid $50 for a tasteless toastie and roti. The owners don't care that this is a lot of money for some. They promised a refund on receipt of a Facebook message if the charge wasn't reversed; after ignoring my messages now say I must go into the shop. Hmmmm

The jovial welcome of the owners already hints at the quality of the food they offer. A wide range of very tasty dishes and desserts, with many vegetarian options. The calzones, mixed salads and banana bread are really excellent. The value for money is definitely unbeatable.

Super friendly proprietor and her banana muffin is fabulous a true taste sensation. We were lucky enough to snag one fresh from the oven. Hot and fragrant, served with a generous dollop of butter on the side. When you break open the muffin, aromatic steam permeates the air and every bite is heavenly. This is a great spot for a good coffee and a banana muffin if you're in the area, especially if you're visiting Quake City. I wished I had taken a photo, but we gobbled it all down way too quickly!

Cute and cozy family run cafe. Close to the museums. Stopped in for coffee and a quick breakfast bite. Service was friendly.
