Switzerland has just been rated the most expensive country in the world. So don't expect bargains, and this restaurant definitely is not! But it is great! One of the best!

Reading the other reviews we certainly expected more. The food was quite nice but overpriced. Interestingly the 'Specials ' which were not listed anywhere but told by the owner. All sounded very nice and we ordered some of these Specials no surprise, they were the...most expensive! But who is going to ask how much if the are rattled down at you! clever move ! Still it was nice and comfortable spending a night eating and drinking. The 'herzlichkeit ' though was certainly missing a shame.
It was our first visit in Chur , the oldest town in Switzerland. My husband and I were looking for a nice place to have lunch but we haven 't done our research so we decided to walk around and around and eventually we were getting...very hungry and went in to this restaurant. The look on the waitress face says that lunch is finished . But the chef was there and asked us what we 'd like to eat..So we said whatever you can offer us. He said we can have grilled fish and so and so and this and that and we just said yes it sounds delicious ,we 'll have two of that please. They sat us down outside with the view of the Kornplatz square. Our food came not long after we had sat down with a glass of delicious glass of wine and as we expected the food was amazing. Nicely presented and the fish was fresh and flavoursome . We ate our food leisurely and we were not rushed at all. It was only after we left that we realised they 've been waiting for the two of us to finish so they can close down for their afternoon siesta. They never said anything. They were very polite. We have also noticed that they have a good rapport with their customers . We are sure the local residents patronise their business regularly and we know why. For a first time visitor in Chur, we were impressed . Love it when proprietors of restaurants are passionate about providing good food and excellent service to it 's regular customers or visitors because that is what 's all about running a successful business like this. Well done to the chef owner of Zum Kornplatz .
