Del Pueblo - Cicero

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. I had placed an order for a gordita at a nearby spot and was told the wait would be 45 minutes! This was on a Thursday afternoon at 1 PM, so I decided that was too long to wait. Instead, I called Del Pueblo, which also offers gorditas, and was pleasantly surprised to find out the wait would only be 15 minutes—pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant. And wow, was it delicious! I tried the Durango-style burrito and the gorditas, and everything exceeded my expectations. The flavors were fantastic. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

I ordered from here for the first time, and unfortunately, my order got messed up. I requested 5 Gorditas and a Torta, but they ended up giving me 6 Gorditas instead. There was hardly any meat in them, and they were made with flour, which I don't like—I specifically wanted corn and wasn’t asked about it. The food was just okay, but I think I'll stick to Jalisco Express down the street.

The staff here are wonderful, and I'm so glad they've made it through the shutdown. They bring a unique flavor to the neighborhood!

I absolutely love this place! The food and coffee are both fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and really makes you feel welcome.
