Street City Urban Gourmet - Cincinnati

I went with three friends because I recommended the restaurant, I had been there twice in the past and really enjoyed the food and our experience. I was extremely disappointed this time. We all ordered a meal deal including soup/salad, entree, and dessert. We all ordered the soup due to my suggestion. It came after we received our entree (not acceptable). We waited 30 minutes for our food which was delicious but not hot. Every part of our 3 course meal took forever time wise to arrive. We had tickets for show at the Aronoff and arrived at 5:30 for our meal. We barely made it in time for our 7:30 show. The other thing that Really bothered all of us was the extremely high noise level which I understand happens with a full dining room but to make things worse loud pop music was turned on, it was impossible to hear the people at my table converse. I will really have to consider whether or not we return to your restaurant considering the experience we had, it was not at all acceptable.

I don’t think one thing went right with my dinner. From glasses of wines getting mixed up to my drink not coming and then being wrong, long wait times, everything was not very good. I went for the fancy $18 hot dog that has actual gold sprinkled on it. I asked for the onions to be on the side. They weren’t. At first it came on a fancy plate and the presentation was cute, it returned on a regular plate with it placed down (almost tossed down) rather hard. No gold sprinkles. No apologies. No let me get the manager. No one really cared. Maybe they should just be a “speakeasy” and forget the food, brush up on how to make and garnish drinks properly, teach the staff how to remember and bring drinks all at once so no one person is waiting 20 minutes for a cocktail/drink/food etc.

Great experience before the show, also great TV’s available, great food and prices, great casual feeling.

The food was superb! The service was a little slow and some of the specialty cocktails weren’t great, but I’d go back for the food in a heartbeat! And it’s less than a block from the Arnoff. Perfect for dinner before a show! Totally recommend!

We go here on a regular basis. But last night was not impressive and disappointing with guest that we took.
