Il Focolare - CINGOLI

As we came early, we were the only guests. We had a standard 3 course meal, antipasto, primo and secondo plata food and wine price/quality great. Welcoming hostess!

Will never return. This is why: The Service: The door says Open, but when you walk in you see only a red curtain. As a client you have to ask can you actually come in.. The woman, that is also the chef, goes around and spends most time in the kitchen, cooking probably. The Location: Every cent of the wall covered in something, mostly boasting how many prices they have gotten and how to buy good local products. Only couple of tables and if another couple sits to the mext table they are basicly in the same table. Embarrassing to talk to your company. The Food: Worst pasta I have eaten in Italy in the year I have lived here. Terrible. Tasteless. My food was supposed to be rabbit, but the meat was probably chicken, have never seen white meat in a rabbit before.. Secondi also tasteless, salami was good. She had no crescia, a local bread you should get from everywhere... The Bill: 42 euros, an ok price, thought not for this quality.

I was there on a Saturday evening and the on,y other patrons were a German family. Other places in town were packed. I don 't think they could be as good as this. Katia from B B San Paterniano made this place one if three suggestions for good local cuisine. The specialties are handmade/homemade pasta with season ingredients. I had cheese ravioli with porcini mushrooms, followed by grilled lamb scottaditto , and a side of sautéed chicory, also local and seasonal. The wine was house wine, local and very good. I then had fresh fruit and an amaro (liqueur). My hosts were wonderful and gave me several gifts to take with me. This is an example of the Italy everyone hopes to find, but rarely does. The value was great: 32€. In Florence or Rome it would 've been 50 and probably not as good.

I found myself really well, eat delicious dishes and spend the right. It's a place where you say hello, even if you don't know each other.
