I stopped by the evening of July 23, and regretted my decision.Of the four staff on duty, only one was properly wearing a mask. Two kept their masks under their noses, which ruins the point of wearing one on the first place. One guy, I 'll call him big red hair guy just didn 't wear one at all. I arrived when I was told my food would be ready. My wings had been sitting on a fryer basket and they couldn 't locate my order, and debated about whether those wings were for me as if they couldn 't remember frying them in the first place. While I stood there waiting, big red hair guy and his buddy complained about other customers and made fun of them. The lack of professionalism astounding. Is pulling a bunch of red hair up higher going to keep it out of the food? A visor isn 't a hat or a hair net, and if all of your hair is pulled up on top of the visor listen, are you concerned about sanitation or not? I had ordered char grilled wings, because it is something not offered in most wing places. Having to wait on my order to be resumed, I got to watch big red hair guy handle my wings on the grill. Big flames engulfing the wings, but they were only on there for about 30 seconds. An entirely pointless exercise. Flames aren 't supposed to touch the food directly at all, and the wings didn 't have enough contact with the grill bars to even leave any marks.I had ordered garlic parm wings and hot wings. The hot sauce was excellent. But then by the time I got my wings they were soggy from the sauce, and as I mentioned, no extra goodness from the grill. To their credit the garlic parm wings retained some crispiness, but the sauce was atrocious. There was a garlic flavor but no parm at all. Instead there was an oiliness that actually tasted fishy as if the fry oil had been used for fish, or was very very old. So let me tell you the garlic/fish flavor made it difficult to enjoy the crispiness.Having waited so long on my food, I was feeling extra hungry, and I was considering a slice of pizza anyway. I do like to try regional variants when I can. So the kind they offered that was most novel to me was 'meat sauce. ' I asked to add a slice to my order. I want to commend the woman handling the register sure, she was one of the 'nose exposed ' people, but she was very kind and easy to talk to, despite being busy. She added a slice to my order like it was no extra burden on her.I ate that slice right away. If I hadn 't been told it was 'meat sauce ' pizza I would never have guessed it. The cheese was decent, and there were a few random bits of unidentified ground meat here and there, but certainly no 'meat sauce ' and barely any sauce at all. I honestly felt sad and deprived. I had such hopes for a local specialty. But how is a place like this staying open when I could get a chain pizza of reliable quality for almost half the price? If a local place isn 't even making better pizza than the national chains, I just don 't understand how you expect to survive.I regret having to leave an almost entirely negative review, when my whole goal was to support a local business and then write a supportive review. But actually, this *is* a supportive review. I want to see this place succeed, and in order to do that they need to face to painful truth of what they 're doing wrong. They could fix these things and live into their potential, and I would love to see that happen. Refusing to acknowledge what 's wrong and do better that 's what is harming your business, and will continue to.Please tell me that the next time I come through town I 'll be able to support a great local pizza place.
It’s Mother’s Day! And we decided to pick up a pizza and boneless wings. I went to eat a wing and it was half raw. After that I had lost my appetite! I called and spoke with a lady and she asked for the wings back, believe me I don’t want them! And asked if we wanted more which we didn’t because me nor my husband have time to do all that! And she hangs up the phone like a rude miserable hag! I’ll still with southside pudgies! I never have that problem with them.
