London Chinatown

Food ok, had dim sum dishes (only small ones in each) and one portion of prawn crackers. Spare ribs dim sum was not enjoyable, full of bone splinters and cartilage! Rest were alright. Liked the pork and scallops dim sum the most. They...didn't bring any sauces with the steamed dim sums, not even soy sauce, and staff was not around much to ask. Definitely needed them. Service was basic, just drop the dishes and disappear quickly. Slight wait for the food too. You have to pay before you get the food! Alarm bells were ringing but ignored them, thought maybe they had problems with people eating outside and legging it without paying. Benefit of the doubt and all that. No itemised bill was provided either, they didn't even give the bill to us, just flashed it briefly and then shoved the card machine forward for payment. I did catch a glimpse of the bill and noticed that it only listed the dishes with no prices for each- more alarm bells, but ignored them too! The card machine is set to ask you to input the tip- do not, there is plenty service charge added to the bill, plus whatever overcharged on the food. Prices definitely not alright. Did the maths, before menu and order form were taken away. It was bugging me a little Our food was plus small cokes. But our bill came to just over Maybe service charge? for a small coke?

Upon arriving and being escorted to what seemed like a business conference room with tables and chairs to suit, we ordered our food and were told to not move the ticket? We ordered wine that was incorrect and upon asking for our portion of...egg fried rice, was told we had two portions in one bowl? The service was appalling and when the non itemised bill came I asked for an itemised one to see a service charge added which as i asked to be removed. Upon asking this she told me the waiter would not get paid and asked that I pay instead!? Absolutely not! She shouted at us across the restaurant as to us being awful for not paying the service charged.. she was so rude another couple left ...the food was bad and the portions very small for what you pay...would never recommend this place if the last place on earth!!!

DO NOT GO HERE! I couldn’t give this place a zero so one star will have to do. I had never been here before and I will never be coming back again. Before we had eaten or even seen the state of the food we...had to pay an bill (which was not worth it in the slightest) but both my friend and I were confused as the bill was a bit more than we had expected to find out a service charge of was added. While we were trying to figure out how our bill was more than expected the waiter never explained about the charge and just stood there and listened to us being confused which was so helpful! When our food was brought over the waitress was rude. No offence but the food was rank. The food was tasteless and congealed. Everything was basically covered in slime and it was absolutely grim and put me off even eating it. The dim sum dumplings were not it and I’ve had a lot of dim sum in my time. We spoke to the manager at the end of our meal about how we were disappointed in the food, in his response it was clear he didn’t care. We then said how we were not prepared to pay the service charge and we were unaware of it, especially as no staff made an effort during our whole stay. (At no point did my friend or myself become rude towards the staff we were speaking calmly) The manager then walked away and after a while someone else came to sort it out and ended up arguing with us about it!! At this point my friend and I were really upset and said we wouldn’t be coming back and in response we’re told we were banned and our faces would be on CCTV (when we did nothing) so even if I was held against my will to go I can’t unfortunately. When we left the waiters thought it would be really funny to say ‘see you soon’. The best part of my stay here was leaving. I have never in my life been to an establishment so unprofessional Where the staff are childish and rude. I’m actually embarrassed for them.

This restaurant suffers from bad reviews because of its name: people leave negative reviews on China town's restaurantS in general instead for this restaurant called London Chinatown Restaurant (singular! '. They also have outside tables and heaters, so we were very pleased to be able to...eat safely and feeling warm. The waiting staff, I asked his name as he was very friendly and informative, Martin, was very efficient and helpful. They are reasonably priced and their seafood dim sums are good value, too. Not top end but for the price, location and range of food, I am happy to give stars.

I went to London Chinatown restaurant and I sat next to a couple of fanny's and the food was so terrible for and some bird moved us to another restaurant and there what looked like Chinese dribble in the soup and honest to God...I used to pay for a meal and came to double which is a complete pisstake like took over a hour to come
