The word authentic is bandied about a lot but Michele and Tania and their team keep Bertaux brilliantly so. The Dijon slice, Mont Blanc and macaroons are all essential, as are the mince pies, obviously only available at Christmas and arguably the best in London with their delicious filling and incredible pastry almost like a shortbread crust. Find any excuse to visit, feast your eyes on the window display and loosen your belt Maison Bertaux is an icon and joy. [hidden link]
Cold pot of tea. Dreadful quality pastries. We had cream tea, and I was so disappointed! The tea was lukewarm. Stone cold scones, doughy, and not enough jam or clotted cream for two scones. We also had a very ordinary mince pie, and we paid almost £25. What a rip-off! We sat in the downstairs dungeon .... I mean, Tearoom and it was so dirty... I am surprised the environmental health inspectors let this place operate!
A stylish cafe in the heart of Soho. I invited friends for a breakfast and we loved our get-together in this cozy French style cafe. I love the clotted cream, scoon with jam. By far the most tasty and fresh. The owner is a warm elegant woman who looks after clients with a memorable hospitality. Highly recommend stop over for a coffee experience with an edge.
A true Soho landmark. Amazing cakes, good coffee and real English tea. Service is always good and you can see why it’s lasted so long!!
Nice food. Good service More Interesting than the average London restaurant. Good venue for casual lunch.
