Pret-a-portea

I visited this restaurant today and was amazed! I tried the pret-a-portea and the sandwiches were fresh and diverse. The real standout were the cakes - the flavors were incredible and the quality was top-notch. The service was outstanding, attentive without being overbearing, and there was a touch of elegance and ceremony which added to the experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and top-notch afternoon tea experience. It truly stands out from the rest and is one of the best I've had.

We were very excited to visit The Berkeley for the start of our honeymoon. We had made a reservation months in advance, choosing the venue over other options such as the Savoy and the Ritz. However, our experience was disappointing. The service was unprofessional from beginning to end. The seating arrangement was cramped, with little privacy, and we could hear conversations from neighboring tables. Our waiter seemed inexperienced and was unable to provide information about the menu items. Despite his friendly demeanor, there were several mistakes in our order, including missing scones and a delay in receiving our coffee. The bill included an extra charge for service that was not up to par. While the food was visually appealing, we found the flavors to be overly sweet and lacking depth. Overall, the afternoon tea at The Berkeley did not meet our expectations for a high-end experience in London. We have rated it higher than one star only because the booking process was smooth and the basic food and drink were satisfactory.

My family and I celebrated a birthday at the lovely Berkeley Hotel. We opted for the Champagne Afternoon Tea and found it to be delicious. The sandwiches were great and the cakes from the Prêt à Portea selection were beautiful and tasty. The service was excellent and efficient. I highly recommend trying it out as you will not be disappointed.

I’ve eaten many afternoon teas but the flavours made this unique in a welcoming way. Delicious sandwiches (with more if you like) with a few flavours not usually found at other teas. Loved the variety of breads used too and the large selection of teas. This was followed by a pretty and tasty selection of delightfully designed cakes. Have to add an extra thank you for the birthday cake which was a lovely touch. Fantastic service throughout and would definitely return.

Your tea includes a flavoursome collection of elegant canapés and tea sandwiches as for your drink, choose a loose leaf tea from an extensive collection. Prêt-à-Portea is priced at £60.00 per person.
