Rising Sun - City of London,Westminster

On a Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm, I visited an empty pub that had a strong smell of sewage and a few regular customers. The atmosphere reminded me of Bar Med in the early 2000s, giving it a dated feel. There was no warm welcome or friendly service. I ordered a pie and chips for £16.00, but the food arrived disgustingly cold. The pie was clearly not heated properly and needed more time in the microwave. To make matters worse, a 12.5% service charge was added to the bill. The food I received was nothing like what was advertised on the website. Overall, I would not return to this venue and do not recommend their food offerings. It's best to avoid this place.

Ther were late to open. One bartender in the whole pub. He did not even apologise for laye opining althouhh he saw me sitting outside and waiting. He was rude and unfriendly. He told me that the kitchen was closed. Altough it was supposed to be open he did not even apologise. Pint cost me £7.25.

I had a delicious lunchtime snack of a chili toastie, fries, and a drink. The food was tasty and the restaurant was very clean.

Nice beer garden and prompt service (hence not in total disagreement about the service charge). However, we had to leave promptly due to a family emergency, which meant that I paid on trust without checking the bill. Later discovered that items had been added that we did not have (neither ordered nor received). Sadly disappointing and, indeed, reprehensible.

A lovely pub which I really enjoy. Relaxed and easy going atmosphere. Friendly staff and good value.
