Feedback gevenThe Angel Crown is a great Fuller's pub in traditional style, located in the heart of Richmond. It can be easily missed due to its location on a narrow street. They have a good selection of Fuller's ales, with the ESB being a standout choice. They also offer a variety of national and international lagers, such as Staropramen. The pub has multiple flat screens showing sports, creating a lively atmosphere. The bartender was friendly and down-to-earth during my visit, which I appreciated. The prices for beer are average, making it a good option for a quick pint or two. Overall, The Angel Crown is a welcoming and enjoyable place to grab a drink.
The food at this restaurant is good, but the lack of space can be a drawback. Additionally, the limited time allowed for dining is not ideal. The location is convenient and easy to find. Hopefully, the experience will improve after the renovation.
I have never dined at this restaurant, but I believe it is currently closed for renovations. The pub/bar, on the other hand, has quite unhelpful bartenders who were in no hurry to serve customers.
We ordered two hüttenpis. they came in different styles and were not the same, although waitress insisted they were. the potato blanket was good, but the slipper with finely chopped meat in the inner was bland and mysterious. the order of the chips was in order, but...the nice seemed like frozen/no spicing. berries pudding was in order. that was around the corner of the hotel. ok for a drink and some fish and chips, but skip the hut cake
I had dinner here at the end of a rather dreary day, and it did help matters somewhat. For starters, I was warmly welcomed by the restaurant manager and immediately seated in a lovely table by the window (where I had a good view of...the Noel Coward theater) despite arriving a little earlier than my reserved time slot. The staff were helpful and eager to present the day's menu, but they weren't pushy. I settled on the roast rump of Cumbrian beef (done medium rare) for my entree as it was a Sunday evening and I was eager to sample a typical Sunday roast. The meat was tender and flavorful, with the addition of its own roasting juices elevating it further and the glorious duck-fat roasted potatoes were an excellent side dish, along with the rest of the seasonal vegetables. I found the portions to be quite substantial, and quite appropriate for the price tag. For dessert, I had the homemade ice cream trio. The flavors of blackberry ripple, honeycomb, and mint were pleasant enough on their own, but were best eaten altogether. The servers were attentive and helpful, clearing plates and bringing whatever one required quite promptly but without being obtrusive. As of this time, I found that they are currently undergoing refurbishment, so the pub/restaurant will not be open until late this year, but I would definitely pay them a visit should I find myself in London again on a Sunday evening.
