My wife asked for a fork, rather than the soup spoon which had been provided, the same server dropped a pot of cutlery onto the table and walked off. This restaurant is simply iconic. While they have added new items to the menu over time, I have always stuck to my go-to order: salt beef on rye with English mustard and a pickle.
The meal was tasty and the service was decent. The restaurant is typically busy, so there may be a wait for a table and to receive your food.
I have been coming to this restaurant since 2006 and the taste of the beef has never changed - it is delicious. A server named Stephanie provided excellent service, filling in all the missing details. I am very grateful to her!
Excellent food and the salt beef is to die for. Watch out for the charity donation they sneakily add in to the middle of the receipt and don’t tell you about. Discretionary service charges are also automatically added.
