Retro Rocks In Sag - City of Saginaw

Food spicier than expected. Crab legs were mediocre. Tomato Bisque soup was spicy and lukewarm warm.

We were there on Aug 24, 2024, it was our first time eating here. After being seated in the dinning area with a mini landing area/bar nook of sorts our waitress introduced herself and we mentioned it was our first time there. Our bill totaled $104.41 not including tip. My wife and I each ordered a drink and the Crab Cheese appetizer. The appetizer seemed more like Crab Rangoon than what I thought Crab Cheese would be. For dinner my wife ordered woodfired grilled crab legs and I ordered woodfired grilled Moroccan lamb, which comes with one quartered pita. We were a bit frustrated with the wait of at least 20 minutes for the appetizer. When we did receive our appetizer, our entrees were served within 10 minutes after the appetizer. The portion of the crab was excellent, the portions of the lamb is good, however, could be better if served with 2 quartered pitas, not just one; taste was excellent for all food items. I ate the pita wrapped over cut up pieces of lamb and dip sauce. I ran out of pita with plenty of meat still on my plate. Our waitress eventually checked up on us but not before I ran out of pita. I asked for another pita and she acknowledged me. After waiting 10 minutes, I had to remind her of the pita I had asked for. I then received the extra pita shortly after. This pita was cut into 8 pieces and was challenging to wrap over the lamb. We were frustrated again waiting 20 minutes to cash out and asked a different waitress for food boxes and our tab. Our waitress had misplaced our tab because she thought she had alread given it to us, however, hadn't. We feel the meals would be well rounded if they came with a potato or salad. Was hoping to give a 5 star review, however, just couldn't, due to a bit of frustration.

Fabulous food, fantastic drink specials and feisty tunes! Watching the music videos and listening to the classics brings back fond memories for this Gen Xer! My brother-in-law, Tim, manages both gastro pubs, and when we come into town from Rochester Hills we are delighted by the fine dining and the more than reasonable prices!! It’s our favourite place to eat in Saginaw! We even hosted my mother-in-laws 80th birthday party at Retro Rocks 13 years ago! As we all appreciate high quality food, this place is a keeper!

Bre was our server/ bartender and she was the absolute best! Kind and funny! Food, as always, was amazing!

Love this place just can't afford it too often anymore prices are pretty high lately. Food's great though atmosphere is great service is great
