The Tailor And The Cook - City of Utica

One of the Best Restraunts I have ever eaten at!!! Well done

We were super excited to try this place, as it seemed like one of the better options for the area. It was a rainy Sunday night, so not overly packed or crowded. Our party only consisted of 4 people and we were seated in the bar area. We sat down, and after about 3 minutes our server came to us offering water. She mentioned she would give us a minute to look over the menu for drink orders. She never came back to check on us. We sat there and waited, and then finally decided to get up and ask the bartender for our server. When she finally came over, she wasn’t apologetic (for forgetting about us) or concerned at all. She actually seemed very annoyed that she had to be at work. She took our drink order, and we placed an order for the cheese board. While we waited for our drinks, we could hear the customer behind us mentioning to his waiter that his food wasn’t that great. We were seated at 6:50 and by 7:15 we still did not have our drinks. So we got up and left. I understand having an off night, but don’t leave your customers sitting for that long without being taken care of. Isn’t that what a manager is for, to over see and make sure customers are properly taken care of and make sure their wait staff are not overwhelmed? For such a beautiful restaurant, and what looked like a great menu- very disappointed in the lack of service or interest that was shown.

This definitely holds up to its recommendation. Many people told me to come here if I wanted farm to table food. And I must say, it was definitely as described. I had the Utica bread with maple butter, Shrimp cocktail and the risotto mushroom. Everything I tasted, was delicious. The server was very elegant and attentive. Great job The Tailor and the Cook

Our dinner was great, our server was amazing, and the facility is beautiful. The only problem is we live in Indiana!
