Nice setting under a huge palapa, the service was great by our waitress and waitress. We ordered various seafood appetizers that were all very delicious. The white fish ceviche was fresh and just the right spices of lime, Zilantro, tomatoes, garlic and onion. The big event for me was the Grilled Octopus, who was a basic dish for me on my Mexican journeys. All dishes were delicious and fresh tasting, I highly recommend this restaurant or El Guero 1, which the father runs.
The service is excellent, in my consideration, food is ok, but not a great taste, just above average.
The restaurant is under a thatched roof, that helps to overcome the humid and hot weather of Lazaro Cárdenas. The restaurant is located in the main road serving Lazaro Cardenas, with its hectic traffic of buses, taxis, motorbikes, people, and the dust associated to this activity. Restaurant sits between the road and a parking lot, so, really, it does not invite. But there is a lot of very kind waiters, theyserve you well and fast, and the food was excellent. I had a empanada (a sort of cake) of camarones, two (small) lobsters it was one dish, not two , one margarita, coffee... 300 Ps, not even 20 USD By the way, there is another Güero, nearby, in a more secluded street (as a matter of fact, same street, but near a Military place and with a lot less traffic), I do not know if they are the same, good friends, or competitors. My critic is for the one placed in Las Palmas 3 (at least, this is what the receipt says)
I go here frequently for the long Mexican lunch. The seafood is the freshest on the planet. I usually have the red snapper a la Mexicana. The Camerones a la diablo is the best. Service is excellent. The restaurant is fairly new, open air, and has a thatched roof with exposed beams. Lots of ambience for place right off the main drag. It is very near to the NH hotel but would be a little tough to walk to because of the big traffic circle.
