Pizzeria La Ternana - CIVITAVECCHIA

Look no further if you want to savour the best pizza in town! We only come to Civitavecchia every couple of years or so, but a visit would not be complete without a visit to this family-run gem. While it is mostly take-away, we have tucked ourselves into the small seating area and enjoyed the fresh flavours while watching the steady parade of locals come for their evening treat. The service is so friendly and prices so inexpensive you’ll feel as if you are family yourself! It may be a while before we return, but we’re already looking forward to being back!

Nice place in the town! The owners are very nice and engaging. You can cheaply buy fresh pizza and choose from many kinds. I definitely recommend :

As a tourist I was looking for a small place to eat out of the way, away from the cheap did sellers patrol the streets. I found this place, and as soon as I saw the queue of the locals, I knew I was the right place. The locals crawled, shredded each other when the lady put out a huge pizza plate behind the counter, freshly out of the oven. A queue was formed by the customers, and one by one, everyone bought a cut piece of this pizza, whatever size they wanted. You could do that when the pizza was sold with weight, a novel idea I've never seen before. I ended up with two large plates for under 2.50 euros. The base was light and crispy, and I really enjoyed it. I'm curious how the 10-12 Euro pizza with different toppings look. I guess I'll find out on my next visit!

Our guide assured us that this was the place to go, and she was right! We're here just before lunch. The service was fast and wonderful. And the pizza? I didn't have the chance to tell all my friends that their leader also said they were coming here!
