My husband ordered a sandwich and requested gluten-free bread. The dish arrived with breadcrumbs, which the waitress confirmed contained gluten. We should have sent it back, but we were so hungry that my husband ended up eating the sandwich anyway. When the manager came out to inquire about the issue, he suggested that it was our fault for not checking the menu. He mentioned that many customers request gluten-free bread without caring if the rest of the meal is gluten-free. We waited in line for a long time to order from the counter, and the menu did not mention gluten-free options or prices (so we were shocked that our simple lunch for two cost $46). Overall, a disappointing experience in every aspect.
The restaurant only delivered half of our order because they lost our tickets. After requesting the rest of our order to be delivered, there was still a delay. The waiter lacked in customer service skills and we overheard the owner/manager speaking poorly of employees in front of customers. The food had average taste and was overpriced.
I'm afraid that I was overcharged on a couple of occasions, and I didn't return. Rather sad as it was a nice place to go.
We had breakfast here yesterday and although maybe a little expensive, it was everything that I expected. A good cooked breakfast nice coffee happy freindly staff.
As a regular to Clare for work I always stop at Zest for breakfast or lunch. Their spinach and fetta muffins are worth the trip alone. Breakfast options are great and always delicious. Coffee is hot and they’re so friendly here they brought out fresh...bacon to keep my little dog happy while we ate. Love the huge outdoor undercover area to sit and eat. Will always come back to Zest when in Clare!
