The George - Clarendon Hills

I really hoped to enjoy this restaurant, but I was not impressed. The food and service were average. The large space still feels awkward, as it did with previous restaurants that have come and gone. I wish someone would open a more appealing option, like a simple burger joint, but so far it hasn't happened.

Unfortunately, when the sign says closed for remodeling, it means they are remodeling another location and may not reopen. It's a shame as this place has great potential.

The sign on the door indicates that the restaurant is closed for construction. I am wondering if this closure is permanent or temporary. It would be disappointing if it were permanent.

The restaurant is still facing some issues as it was out of water glasses when we arrived and the service was inconsistent. However, the pretzels and Tuna Tostadas were delicious, while the Beef Wellington was disappointing with overcooked beef and an inedible sauce. On the bright side, they offer great happy hour specials.

All of the food we tried was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the beef wellington, as it was one of the best I have ever had. The steak tacos and fish tacos were also outstanding.
