Paddy Burkes - Clarinbridge

Unfortunately this is not a great review of Paddy Burke's. I was very disappointed with our meal here. Pros: the interior setting where you sit to eat is very nice and warm the 2 main courses we ordered (Turkey and Ham special as well as the chicken and mushroom pasta) were very nice Cons: once we were seated at our table after a 10 minute wait we had to request menus we received the menus and after another 10 minute wait again had to request if we could place our order the first 2 dishes I ordered I was told that they were out of and not on the menu, so I went for the pasta we had to wait 55 minutes for the food to be served and it wasn't overly busy, there were a lot of vacant tables that we could see whilst we were eating our meal 2 other couples were seated in our area, 1 of the couples was told that 2 other dishes were no longer available and the other couple was able to order the dish that I had been told wasn't available. Not sure why the change but found that frustrating as I said the 2 mains were very tasty and we did enjoy them but then we ordered the dessert. I ordered the Banoffee Pie and it was gone off I told the man who had seated us and he took the dessert away and didn't come back to us. We asked for the bill and the waitress brought it down and said they had removed the dessert I had ordered from the bill (this was perfect) on the way out I used the ladies and the hot top in the bathroom was broken and was in full flow with boiling water (I had been the previous week for lunch and had informed a member of staff that the hot tap in the ladies was broken and that it couldn't be turned off so I was really unhappy that this still hadn't been fixed and all that waste). The ladies also wasn't clean 2 of the toilets were blocked and a lot of rubbish on the floor It's a pity because apart from the gone off dessert I think it's a nice place but there are too many issues that need to be fixed. It's like a place that has gone down hill a lot even though there seemed to be a lot of staff working.

Had seafood chowder and guiness. Very poor quality chowder tasteless and any glass we had was dirty. Sad as had a good reputation

Restaurant was advertising the launch of new menu so we decided to give it a try. Old menu given when asked for new menu we were told it wasn't available. Ordered from old menu .so disappointed. Chowder watery poor fish . Soup was not nice at all. Steak sandwiches served on stale bread. Paddy burkes always served the best chowder, so not sure what happened .

This is the nicest Sunday lunch that I have had in the longest time. The food was such good quality, cooked to perfection with a lovely flavour . The staff were lovely and there was a lovely ambiance. I would highly recommend this pub.
