The best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted. I cannot say enough about how great this place is. If you’re looking for good ole southern cooking this is the spot for you!!Vegetarian options: They do have a vegetarian menu!
Wow what a quaint, friendly, great vibes, place to get real down home Southern cooking! The owners and servers clearly have locals who frequent this lovely place and we even had one or the owner come and talk to us and she was so kind that I just wanted to hug her I liked so much. We came here because of the fabulous reviews and we were not disappointed at all. The food was so good, although I would have liked someMayo on the belt, BUT the fried pickles and fried okra were phenomenal and the sweet tea was delish. They have a variety of fromScratch bake pies, cakes, and cobblers so save room for some of this! The prices were very reasonable and given how yummy the food was we will be back. A lot! If you’re looking for authentic real down home southern cooking (this is the real deal) then come here you won’t be disappointed.
Soooooo good!!! I've tried the fried pork chop, fried chicken and chicken and dumplins. All were absolutely ? delicious! The green beans, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese were just as good! This is one of my favorite places to call ahead and pick up on the way home from work as it takes them a moment to prepare everything. Good southern cooking at its best!
The staff is nice. I had the chopped steak it tasted like season-less meatloaf I don't like meatloaf, seasoned or not this was not. My favorite flavor of dessert is Key Lime, then chocolate. I had the Key Lime cake after 2 bites, I couldn't take it anymore. It tasted soggy not much key lime flavor. I didn't want to try the chocolate because of how the key lime cake was made. I understand this restaurant is in the Biblebelt, but I'm not keen on the gospel music. It feels old dark as it is, so that particular music makes it even more depressing. This is my opinion, so I won't be visiting this place again.
If you were raised by a true southern mama, this place is for you. When you come inside, you 're hollered, sit anywhere you 'd like! I have been (at least) 5x in the last two months. Sometimes with my daughter, sometimes by myself. I 'm never surprised anymore about how good the food is. NONE of the vegetables need seasoning. To put any of that mess on is an insult to the food. And the chicken??? Please. KFC *wishes* they had their secret recipe. It was hard to grip my steering wheel on the way home. I 've had Brittany as my waitress. Correction...I 've been lucky to have Brittany as my waitress. In these reviews, there 's always a but . My only (and I truly MEAN only) complaint is that they have blah cornbread. The sweet jiffy stuff. I would rather soak up my pot liquor with cast iron cornbread or corn pones. And when y 'all play the og r&b?? Bill Withers, Otis, Al Green, Aretha? I 'm done. I don 't need dessert.
