Affairs Bakery And Cafe - Clearview

I took my elderly neighbour here for a nice lunch. I generally love this place but I ordered a Reuben sandwich and although it was tasty, it was on light rye with sauerkraut but only had about two slices of corned beef and of...a dill pickle. It was Could not believe it. I did not want to make a scene because my neighbour was paying but it was a total rip off!

Good selection of baked goods. Was happy to see so many vegan, gluten friendly choices. Date square was delicious.

I visited the Bakery today and was so disappointed. In my previous trips to Creemore I always looked forward to visiting the Bakery for butter tarts. They sold some of the best butter tarts I've had, with lots of interesting flavours. Went there with friends...today and they didn't have any interesting flavours so I bought a couple of raisin butter tarts. No problem, I thought, I really like raisin. I don't know if the Bakery has been sold, or they had an inexperience baker in today but the butter tarts were pastry with a very thin layer of filling. Not even as good as an average grocery store butter tart. So disappointed

Today we picked up a take out danish and it was superb! Not so light and airy that crumbs are all over you. Not too much icing and real blueberry topping instead of a blob of blueberry filling from a can. Just the best!

Presentation Box was beautiful, how ever the donuts were tasteless, maybe it was the brioche style not sure. We were given coconut cream, honey glazed, chocolate, and apple fritter. Husband said he found one small square of apple on the last bite. The other three...could have been all the same flavor very bland.. Thoughtful gesture but could not tell my friend we were disappointed
