Upon arrival, there was no signage to be seen; instead, it was the Clearwater Lake Tours office. So FYI, there is no separate Osprey Cafe establishment. Confusion (and expectations aside), the staff were extremely friendly and the food was great for being the last establishment for food in Wells Grey Park. Family ordered 3 breakfasts and 1 beef sandwich. Portions were good and yes, somewhat pricey but hey, its decent for being where we are. Also, the view of the lake and Osprey Falls were great!
We found this cafe after a long drive up to Clearwater Lake on a wet and murky day. We each ordered hot chocolate and it was absolutely wonderful. I don't normally drink this but I was so glad I'd ordered it. As a bonus the music was great. All this and then the sun came out! Well worth a visit if you are in the park.
We have ordered smoked trout and the daily tomato soup. The food was healthy and delicious and the view was amazing. The staff was so nice. A gentleman named luck was very helpful, he has suggested us where to go and how to explore the area. Highly Suggested!
This cafe is literally at the end of the road when you are driving up in Wells Gray Park, BC. It is a simple but very welcoming little space and they are very friendly. I had a great cup of coffee here, and was welcome to refill my cup as well. We enjoyed their burger special for our lunch and I found it really flavourful. Their cake and ice-cream for dessert was really delicious too. We stopped here early in the season so it was quiet but it will be very very busy once summer arrives.
By any measurement this Cafe is a blessing. Having driven up a gravel road for some twenty km the desire for a chill out and a good cup of coffee is huge. Your requirement is easily satisfied at the wonderful Osprey Cafe....add to this a piece of maple cake and your day is complete! The coffee by the way comes in a bottomless cup. They also run an hour long boat trip on the large and picturesque Clearwater Lake which comes with a beer and a rainbow trout salad lunch included in the ticket. The captain a very chatty and chirpy young lady not long out of her captaincy apprenticeship provided a safe interesting journey with a good and comprehensive commentary. Well worth the hassle of the gravel road journey!
