This location has changed themes so many times I can't keep count anymore. Same insides as the previous Vietnamese place, now with some different art, Bob Marley posters, music playing off YouTube on a tv. Friendly service. I would definitely call ahead if you're going to have anything. Island time. Some dishes you can't prep fresh at a moment's notice, my ackee salt fish was good. Presented well even for a styrofoam container. Oxtail and rice was decent and a healthy portion. I did notice most of the food being prepped with a microwave. Yes, most restaurants use the convenience of a microwave....maybe all. Just wanted that backyard Jamaican grill vibe. Pretty steep on the price and for the wait, not sure if I'd attempt again. The Spanish spots nearby have bigger portions of rice and meat for cheaper, and usually ready to eat made daily...cafeteria style. Note, if you're expecting any plating while dining in, none. You'll be using the same takeout containers to eat in.

I waited til I ate there twice before I left a review. The food is great. The j chicken was amazing ! I also had the goat roti and curry shrimp. The curry shrimp is very spicy which I love if your not a spice lover be careful ordering that. I would recommend this place to others! I ordered through Uber eats both times. You guys got a loyal customer out of me.

Food is very tasty but the meat to side ratio is terrible. Also the past 2 times I’ve been I have called ahead was told 20-25 minutes I always have to wait over 30 minutes (in addition to the 20-25 mins) when I get there which is unacceptable. The first time it happened the cashier said the order was taken but the cook forgot to start it. The second time we called in the order at 6:34 didn’t receive our order until 7:52. I’m assuming they tell people 20-25 minutes to make it sound good? Not cool. They need at least one more employee to help them.

Chicken patties are on point! Seriously, try them and you’ll be glad you went. Theyre by far the best item on the menu $2 I think). The service is a tad slow so I’d order ahead if you’re getting a meal/entree. That’s my only knock on the place, otherwise I hope they can survive on that sleepy Cleveland Street block.
