Callaloo Cafe - Cleveland

Visiting from out of town and we always try to hit up local food locales. This Trinidadian spot hit just right and we were full! Very tasty, big portions. We had the brown stew chicken with Mac n cheese and Callaloo greens and hubby had jerk chicken with chick peas and callaloo greens and of course we both had rice and pears. Chef Kelvin was so pleasant and welcoming. Would come again if in the area.

I had never had the food until I ordered a surprise bag. I'm sitting here eating it and it's delicious! The curry chicken is wonderful and not overpowered with curry. I haven't had Callaloo since I was in Jamaica in 2006 and I can already see myself driving back and forth to get some from this restaurant. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

This place upset me in the worse way. First of all ,I don’t like bad business. It says on their door they’re open at 1pm . I waited until 1:20pm and the doors were still locked. I drove out of my way based on a friend's recommendation. They were inside and refuse to open the door as I stood there in the heat . I didn't receive an explanation . I never got a chance to try their food ,and I never want to. I do not recommend. It’s too many other places that open on time where I can spend my hard earned money. They get zero stars

I kept it simple with jerk chicken and rice. I really like the flavors of the jerk chicken. The meat is tender. The rice is solid. I wish it had a tad more flavor. Overall I score this dish an 8.9/10 The energies in the establishment are fantastic. I am an empath and I felt light being in there. The food is made with love. Even how the food digest in my belly was easy and didn’t get bloated. I highly recommend this Callaloo. ???

Jerk Chicken was great. I was surprised how good the meat and all the sides were. Very tasty
