I drove to the restaurant and it’s completely dark with a paper sign on the door saying closed so I never got my food despite receiving multiple text messages that my food would be delivered at a specific time. Absolute scam.
Placed an order online this past Sunday evening through Zuppler, their partner online ordering system. Upon arrival, the restaurant’s doors were all locked, all lights turned off (pitch black inside), no answer on their phones (I called three times). Rightfully, I was issued a full refund by Zuppler. However, very disappointing knowing I won’t be reimbursed for the gasoline used travelling to and from the restaurant (25 minutes each way). Gas isn’t cheap now days… I would have expected someone from the restaurant to reach out and address my situation but, alas, nothing. This place sucks.
The owner of this restaurant “MALLIKA S” has not paid her employees their full wages for her restaurant in Bullhead City, AZ. She received two PPP loans for a total of $96,432.00 (dispersed APR2020 and FEB2021) and didn’t pay any wages for over 3 months for some employees on purpose. She refuses to communicate with her employees that she owes money. She has taken advantage of them and purposely closed her business for a few months after her first loan so she could keep the money. She reopened her business later in the year and hired new employees and has not paid them. She took the money and opened a second business in Cleveland, Ohio (Cedar Thai Express). If you try to visit this restaurant when they are supposed to be open, you now know why they are closed randomly.
Great food. Best Thai food here for now. Authentic test. Worst to waiting. Kapoon maa kap. Aroi maak
TOTALLY worth the wait! When we called this particular Friday night we were cautioned an hour wait for takeout. We arrived 1.5 hours later and were greeted by a very sweet young woman with a sincere apology and estimate for another 15 minutes, explaining that the cook had quit without notice and now the owner was alone doing all of the cooking. We could see the owner working as quickly as she could in the kitchen. We settled in at a table to wait. Meanwhile another woman customer came in and started ranting at the hostess with an attitude of entitlement and superiority. The hostess responded with grace and apology, attempting to invite an ounce of empathy for their situation but to no avail. The customer seemed to believe she need not extend mutual courtesy and was free to verbally vent her anger on the hostess without any consideration or kindness. It seemed like she needed to put others in their place to assuage her own insecurity. After waiting about 45 minutes, our food was packed and we tried to extend extra kindness to compensate for the bad behavior of the previous customer! Jeez, this is our neighborhood restaurant. Would prefer to live in a community of mutual care! I 'm so grateful to receive the gift of another 's cooking, especially at an independently-owned place vs a franchise. It takes a lot of personal risk and long hours to run a restaurant! The food was heavenly, especially the black pepper garlic tofu, a dish I 've not had elsewhere. And, despite the backlog of orders, the food was placed carefully and beautifully in the takeout container. Flavors are richer and more nuanced than I 've had at other Thai places; the sauces lighter but tastier! The Pad See Eiw boast the thick, chewy fresh rice noodles that I crave and braised in the sauce, not just boiled with sauce poured over. Several other Thai Places we visited are now skimping and using reconstituted dry noodles and charging higher prices! All vegetables were fresh, cooked expertly barely-crisp; none were mushy or undercooked. To me, this restaurant experience provides both gracious people and excellent food. I 'm sure they 'll be back to being more timely as soon as they find a new cook. Will definitely be back and hope you try it, too!
