The portion sizes did not justify the high prices. Many items in our order were incorrect or needed adjustments, with no discounts offered. The creamed corn looked unappetizing, and my partner only took a small taste before disregarding it. We will not be returning. I recently dined at this restaurant for lunch and was very pleased with the experience. The price per person was between $10 and $20, which I found to be very reasonable. The food was excellent, I would rate it a 5 out of 5. The service was also good, I would give it a 4 out of 5. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, I would rate it a 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the fried chicken, it was delicious.
The restaurant serves homemade pies from GFS and their wagyu burger is made with ground chuck. They charge $3.99 for a soda. Overall, the reviewer feels the menu is not authentic and criticizes the establishment. The meal type is breakfast and the average price per person is $20-$30. The food received a rating of 1, the service scored a 3, and the atmosphere was rated a 2.
Food: the portions were great, but the below average quality leaves you wondering how they can charge so much. The fish appears frozen and unthawed prior to frying. It consisted of four, square, nuggets of fish, a handful of fries for $17.99. The cup of chili screams mid bland, plain (no cheese, onions, hot sauce... nothing), $5.45 cup, room temperature. The black and bleu burger was really good, but chips are served with it and cannot be substituted. The nachos were six decent sized chips, cheese, tomatoes, and jalapenos with chili, sour cream, and salsa on the side. These were fairly good, but extremely anemic for a $14.99 appetizer. The cole slaw tasted more like fish than the actual fish. It was inedible. I believe the spotlight was on the turkey club that was actually very good, and portioned and priced fairly. Service: Umm... what service? We waited while the people that came in after us were served before we were even approached all after being seated. The silverware was dirty, and a menu had blood on it. The server was very friendly after she got to us. Atmosphere: this seems good, but when three people are having an $87 lunch that was worth $50, tops, it's very hard to enjoy the place you are sitting. The prices are on the menu, and I'm not upset about the money. I'm upset that I'm paying Texas Roadhouse prices for Taco Bell quality food. After tip, this was over $30 per person. This was one of my wife's favorite childhood restaurants, and she's complained since sitting down. I do not believe that we will return for a VERY long time.
