All of our food was on point, service was awesome. Omg the red beans and rice was off the chain authentic LA comfort food awesomeness. Closely seconded by their gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, fried chicken and cornbread. Thank you ladies for offering hot, fresh, delicious southern cooking and hospitality at it's best. This Frankston, Texas transplant girl (NOLA born, St.Bernard parish who'd dat raised) girl, is very grateful to have found your place on our travel home. Even though this was our first time to eat here, we were greeted by the owner, Miss Carter, with a smile and a HUG! Man, you just don't see that every day. She treated us like she had known us for years. The lunch we had today was fried fish, butterbeans with okra, candied yams, mustard greens, and corn bread. And let me tell you, It was OUTSTANDING! When we checked out, Miss Carter told me how much she appreciated our business and I promised her we would be back to try other dishes. In todays world of fast food, it's good to know you can still get a great home cooked meal, just like mama and grandma used to make. Give Carter's Home Cooking a visit next time you are in Clinton, LA. You will be glad you did!!!!

1st time eating here, the food was excellent and highly recommended if you are in Clinton. Staff was so friendly and helpful.
