Feedback gevenDuring our visit as tourists, we unexpectedly ended up at Bistro 128 on its last night at its current location before moving to downtown Des Moines. Despite the change, it was a lively atmosphere with many local regulars. Owner Lynne greeted us warmly and we enjoyed the delicious and creative food, with me ordering a la carte and my husband opting for the chef's tasting menu. The cocktails were also expertly crafted. We are excited to dine at their new location on our next visit to Des Moines, as our first experience was fantastic and we look forward to more fine dining opportunities.
We wanted to have one final meal at the Clive location before they relocate downtown. The food and service were excellent as always, and we enjoyed bringing our friends who also love Table 128. I tried the lamb leg cannelloni, which was unique and delicious. It was my first time having a pasta dish there and it exceeded my expectations. The chef's menu had a summery theme with perfect balance. The watermelon gazpacho was refreshing with a mix of sweetness and saltiness from crispy prosciutto. The Peach Panacotta with goat cheese crumble was also amazing. It was a great final meal at the Clive location and I can't wait to visit the new place on opening night. Cheers to Table 128 and their continued success downtown!
Incredibly friendly and welcome staff that was ready to answer all the questions. some selected vegan menu items, others that can be changed. the burger cannot be made vegan unless with a salad wrap.
This restaurant NEVER disappoints! I will miss it SO MUCH during this short hiatus while they prepare to open in their new and exciting location!! The countdown starts as we wait, and I am SO excited!
