Brasserie Memere - Closter

Took 15 minutes for the bartender to come say hello, they were not that busy. Once he finally acknowledged us things were OK and my drink was very good. I had The Accountant

Chemical taste, albeit minimal, in Mussel dish. Manager was guarded and somewhat defensive in response to complaint. Admittedly, Manager removed that order from the final bill, but did so seemingly begrudgingly.

I’ve been here a few times and the atmosphere is great, and a good bar with an excellent bartender and drink choices. The staff is friendly and accommodating.But the food is so mediocre, nothing stood out, the flat bread pizza style food seemed like it was frozen and re-heated. The burger was mediocre, the French onion soup was mediocre, the salads were mediocre. The steak was O.K. I don’t know what it is about this place, but it doesn’t seem like the kitchen prepares food fresh. For its location and setting it should be doing much better with the food.

We are very excited to find this restaurant and want to go every week. This is one of the best restaurants in NJ. Everything was delicious. One shortcoming that I found was that Brunch was much tastier than Friday night.

We went with some friends the first time for us. The drinks were wonder absolutely delicious. The food was sooo good we had 4 appetizers, mussels, grilled octopus, escargot steak tartare all out of this world. Our server Thomas was so nice and attentive and helpful with the menu.Theresa, I think she was the manager had greeted us at the door and helped to choose our before dinner drinks at the bar.
