Culina Nostra - Cluj-Napoca

Every day the menu turns around the options of the day (every day there is a vegetarian option) you can create your menu by using 1 soup 1 main dish that contains dessert as a bonus. Well cooked food (with lots of... from Hungarian dishes), friendly staff, fast on their feed (usually you are already eating in the first minutes of entering the restaurant) and a total welcoming atmosphere of this place at the top of my lunch options.

They have very tasty traditional cuisine, a beautiful selection of wines from all over the country and a fast and polite service. Better go there before 2:00 if you want to find a place to sit.

Affordable and varied daily menu, great cereal bread, great terrace, good service. The dishes are a blend of Romanian and Hungarian traditional dishes.

The restaurant is perfectly based in the Downtown, it is easily reachable. The service is awesome, many-lingual (Romanian, Hungarian, English), the meal is delicious, and also affordable. Do not forget to taste the daily offer of the desert, but you might want to taste their...chocolate cake or the desert called floating island . This is a special desert, it is not common to find that in restaurants, but is tastes very good. For me it tastes like it was made by my grandmother. I suggest you to try. You also should try the coffee and, later on in the evening, their wine collection. In the summer they also have a garden, definitely worth to try it. Bon appetite!

Culina Nostra is a small friendly place, on str Decembrie 21, a minute's walk from Piata Unirii and directly across the street from Sora shopping centre. It's unobtrusive and easy to miss ... but don't miss it. They have just six tables in the front...room, and about the same number of small high tables with stools in the back. Decor is elegant and slightly rustic (for example, the walls are decorated with vegetable crates, painted black). The food is simple, honest, home cooked and excellent mainly Romanian and Hungarian. There's a fixed price menu for lunch and dinner, which changes every day (as of February 2014, the lunch price was about RON 15). Their lapte de pasare (meringue in cream sauce) is to die for. Best of all ... that rarest of rarities in Romania ... they are 100% non smoking, and no compromise.
