I have found that chances of good food are higher on the weekends due to higher patron turnaround, which equals higher food turnaround, which equals fresher food. I think that during the week the food could be days old and reheated. We stopped going because the bad was outweighing the good.
I can't possibly write enough good things about the staff as they were extremely friendly and pleasant. But the rest of the place requires bulldozing. The restaurant itself is very worn and not exactly clean, let's not mention the fact that although it was well above 0C outside (unusual for this area in January) the place was literally freezing. I can't imagine what it would be like here when we get our -30C temps. As it was I had to eat with my coat on and buttoned and by the time I got back to my car I could barely feel my hands. The buffet does not have a single item on it that I would ever care to taste again:- Potstickers: Gooey slimy dough surrounding a rock-hard meatball- Wontons: Same rock-hard meatball but this time surrounded by dough so overcooked it falls apart- Beef and Broccoli: Again slimy and oily with the beef being both pasty and bland- Fried Rice: Not even remotely fried with nothing actually discernible in it but overcooked icky rice- Chicken Chow Mein: Indescribably mushy boiled cabbage and chicken crud- Ginger Beef: More sugar than you'll find in a lollipopFair enough, I am aware that this isn't Richmond, BC or Spadina Ave. in Toronto, but this is absolutely revolting even by small town prairie standards.
Food was good and potions were great. sucks they don't deliver unless it's a huge order but staff are very friendly. Will be going back soon.
It was extremely fresh and there is always extra food. You order for 10 and get enough for 12. I haven't had a sit down meal there for a few years. We usually just do take out and are never disappointed
We recently stopped for lunch at Ming's while in Coaldale and we hadn't been to the restaurant for several years. The premises are Spartan ( similar to an older style diner ). We had the lunch buffet and it was hot and tasty. Several dishes including wonton soup and we enjoyed everything although the chicken balls had too much batter. However, another chicken white meat dish was delicious ( tasted like Kentucky Fried Chicken ). Also the ribs and chicken wings were very good. Vegetables were nicely prepared. Reasonable prices as well. Would definitely return.
