It was rich and creamy with chunks of cacao that gave it a satisfying texture. For dinner, I enjoyed a hot, sweet, and flavorful drink made from cocoa beans, not powder. Alongside the cacao drink, they served a delicious sauce called teu, which paired perfectly with the tortillas they served on the side.
When I visit cobán, I never miss the opportunity to have dinner in the peñascal. with its beautiful and clean atmosphere, it is the best place to enjoy the local kitchen. they can try the kaq ik, the most famous and delicious local dish. it is a tasty truthahn stew, which is served with chile cobanero and deceit from white maisteig. it is accompanied by kakaw, a bitter hot cocoa drink served in calabash dishes. also the steak in cardamom sauce and the sub’anik (steel with four meats) are very typical and delicious dishes. it is true that even in the capital these dishes are served, but only in cobán they get the original taste.
It seems that locals recommend this restaurant to visitors looking to try authentic Q'eqchi cuisine. The kak'ik dish was especially delicious.
Enjoyed the menu del día here. A little more pricey than the local comedor, but nice tranquil environment. Good service.
We had turkey, sea food soups, pork adobado and spaghetti and the food was good. great service and excellent atmosphere.
