True North - Coburg

Lovely people with great service. I was brought water with my menu and the Reuben sandwich and coffee were both very good. The booths were comfortable, although the funky music c1975 was a little loud. Otherwise a great experience.

What a lovely gem True North is. We've been here quite a few times since moving to the area and had a great time. Recently we had a terrible loss and ended up at True North three times in as many days. Partly for getting out and about, but returned for food and welcoming atmosphere. We were warmly greeted each time and served like family. Once we went for food but were kindly told food service had stopped due to a film event that night, so we came back for that. Once monthly True North hosts fun film nights for a fiver which is amazing value for popcorn, snacks and a great night. An intro by an enthusiast and warm service makes the whole experience cooler than at home and more intimate than a cinema. We also can't fault the food, drinks or coffee. The vegan menu is awesome (FLT my new fave sandwich anywhere , beer always cold'n'tasty and coffee so good I had a few; Feel lucky to be so local and would encourage others to make the trip to drop by. Hard to find such a unique place without pretension. A gem.

Went hear a few years back and had really enjoyed it. not in this pat off Melbourne much, so took a friend for breakfast. Blazin Hash was disappointing for my friend, the vegan blazin hash has facon in it which is still terrible. I had the chicken tacos. I didn't expect the chicken to be in small popcorn size pieces. They were overcooked and tough and too difficult to keep in the taco. Would have been better with a goujon style piece. Coffee was fine. Service was friendly.

First visited in February this year when we arrived in Australia. Food, staff and drinks were excellent. Started our round trip around Australia and returned to True North for breakfast. We are pleased to report that the food , staff , drinks and the service as as good as ever. It seems to be getting busier so the owners and staff are doing something right. One of the best places we have visited in Australia especially for my partners vegan options. Thank you.

Have had breakfast here a few times and always really good food. Like most breakfast places (not this just place) it's just a little bit pricey to come too often. Especially considering the amazingly cheap Mediterranean food available in coburg, but when we have some expendable income to burn and we want a good breakfast it's where we go.
