Beleth offered my sister and I each a sample of a frozen tea. Neither of us like coffee so he started telling us about the other things Starbucks has to offer. I’ve stepped foot in Starbucks twice but never did I know you could get stuff here other than coffee... I know I know, how naive of me! But Beleth has such a relaxed and easy to talk to personality and I just really wanted to write a positive review about our experience today because of him.
A nice place to pick up a cup of coffee you will enjoy every drop of it
This review is for the Starbucks inside target, not Target itself (I love Target itself). I went there this morning looking for one of those Unicorn drinks (after being told by the Prairie Starbucks that the target one was the only one in the area that wasn 't sold out). I walked up and told the barista (an elderly woman) that I 'd like to order one. She pointed behind her and didn 't answer. I glanced up and saw a small sign on their menu board with an I 'm sorry, we 're all sold out sticker over it. Hoping it was a mistake, I said, oh... you 're all sold out? She looked at me and said, Just out of curiosity, what is it abut you that makes you incapable of reading a sign? Is it too small? Not bright enough? Do I need to put lights on it to make you people actually read it? I was so shocked I could barely speak. I just didn 't look up. I responded. I didn 't bother telling her that I suffer from extreme social anxiety and always keep my eyes down when I go out alone in public, or that I had an exhausting night and was barely awake. It doesn 't matter, and it was none of her business anyways. The way that she treated me was so horrific that I will never go back. The worst thing is, I couldn 't figure out how to gracefully walk away without bursting into tears, so I ordered a drink anyways! I have never been so appalled by anyone 's behavior. I get it. You work at Starbucks. You obviously don 't like your job, and I 'm sure you 're asked for that drink every single moment of every day. But there is NEVER an excuse for treating another human being like that. Not ever. For people like me, it takes every ounce of bravery that I can muster to walk into a big store like that without my husband next to me. Thanks to her, it will probably be a long time before I can again.
Starbucks became profitable for the first time in Seattle in the early 1980s. The company faced economic difficulties while expanding into the Midwest and British Columbia in the late 1980s, but saw renewed success after entering California in the early 1990s. The first Starbucks location outside North America opened in Tokyo in 1996, and today, international locations make up nearly a third of its total stores. Between 1987 and 2007, Starbucks opened an average of two new locations each day. On December 1, 2016, Howard Schultz announced his resignation as CEO, effective April 2017, with Kevin Johnson prepared to succeed him. Johnson officially took on the role of CEO on April 3, 2017, while Schultz transitioned to the position of Chairman Emeritus on June 26, 2018.
