There is no table service, so you will have to order your food and get your own drinks. The prices are high considering the lack of service. The garlic bread was disappointing, as it was too chewy and average. While the main dishes were okay, there were very limited options for those with allergies.
This restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and reconnect with family and friends. The location and beautiful surroundings make it a top choice for gatherings, with plenty of space for everyone.
I was disappointed with this restaurant. When we ordered drinks, they told us it would be a 10-minute wait for our two cocktails. My $16.50 margarita was served in a small tumbler with a plastic straw. The menu seemed to be lower quality than a typical pub menu.
We had to set up for the service, just to sit on our reserved table. then we got from our table to wait in the line to order the 2 specials and a dessert before we go into the bar to order our drinks. it's less effort. to cook home. the waiter tried to give us a pizza and dessert. we didn't order pizza. in the next minute another waiter said that they could have the order wrong and bring the salmon special and dessert out, but they would begin to cook my huh that would be later. I said it wasn't okay. we wanted to eat our main dishes together. we don't go out much if we have 3 kids. the manager offered to pay for dessert and offer a servier dessert free. that was very generous and thought our experience would turn around. the waiter asked if we were ready for our dessert. we asked for 10 minutes and my man is still eating. 30 minutes later we waited. there was no waiter in sight. Finally we saw one who had fallen from another table through a similar experience. we chased her next and our dessert came out. the personal was apologetic and I feel for them, as this seems a common thema for them in feedback. under personal and very badly executed food and service. while we wait for a cocktail to finish our night after dessert, the bar staff could be heard with a talk about the frustration of the waiter and kitchen staff. but they were still happy. this use is a good culinary experience, but it is a casual bistro-style service, although the local hotel also seems to perform this better.
I rarely patronise group tours, preferring to travel individually or 'FIT ' as the tourism sector calls it, but on a recent Journey Beyond 'Great Southern ' sleeping car Brisbane to Adelaide rail journey with about 130 others plus 'GS ' staff, I was pleasantly surprised at this...North Coast NSW venue. The waiting staff including the Manager were efficient and courteous, something not always seen in Australia. The quality of food oysters, prawns and various other offerings was good, and not lacking in quantity. As always with the three main 'JB ' long distance trains, alcohol was included and again was served relatively quickly upon request. Journey Beyond (which also operates 'The Indian Pacific ' Sydney Perth transcontinental train, 'The Ghan ' from Adelaide to Alice Springs and the famous 'The Overand ' between Adelaide and Melbourne) would be paying a lot for this evening meal (advertised as an 'off train ' experience on the first evening) so good to see that Pacific Bay Resort wasn 't scrimping. A water dragon (or similar lizard) paid us all a visit while the decorative pond/pool had koi in it, amusing some visitors. From what little I saw of the grounds, they looked inviting.
