Ootoya - Coffs Harbour

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we discovered that our reservation, which I had made less than two hours prior, was mistakenly booked for another evening. When I explained this to the maitre d', she seemed unimpressed and reluctantly found us a table near the entrance. The service was lacking, with little interaction from the staff and difficulty getting their attention to place our order. The portions were small and we debated leaving to find another dining option due to hunger. Despite the disappointing experience, we found camaraderie with neighboring diners who shared similar negative experiences. Overall, the service was perfunctory and rude, and we left feeling unsatisfied. This was the worst dining experience I've had in Coffs Harbour, where I have frequented many restaurants over the years.

The food took an excessively long time to arrive. I have nearly grown a full beard waiting for it! I even began to wonder if the chef had passed away, considering the delay.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem in the heart of Coffs Harbour. The food was fantastic, fresh, and delicious. We ordered a few Bento boxes which arrived quickly, packed with flavor, and exactly what we were craving.

Good food and absolute lovely wait staff Thank you. We enjoyed all the sushi we ordered apart from the baby avocado roll because the seaweed wrap was a bit overpowering. Aside from that we had a lovely experience made soo much better by the lady...serving us.
