Ordered Kongu Style biryani along with chicken fry and Nethili fish fry. Fish tasted decent and the other two dishes tasted good. Would recommend to have a Goli soda after your meal!
One of the times when I dropped by without any expectations. I went in to try their breakfast, but the taste made me try out dinner too.Mutton chops – Soupy, mild-spiced, jelly texture with great flavours; though it was mostly bones, it was great with the tiffinIdly/Dosa with Nenju ezhumbu Kolambu – Authentic brekkie to start the day with; the steamy chest-bone gravy with the fluffy Idly was worth it. The gravy had good spice and there were no signs of artificial flavoursNaatukozhi Chicken Biryani – Tender meat saturated in spices arousing the senses with its flavours; south-Indian type Biryani but had more pieces/bones rather than meat/ricePallipalayam Chicken – One of the signature dishes down south which had pieces of coconut and dry red chillies; without those 2 this dish isn’t complete. The spice level was moderate for my taste buds and the chicken was soft; went well with the riceFor people who prefer authenticity over ambience/luxury, then this is the place around. The service was good and surely, this place is economical.
Perfect destination for a proper non-vegetarian south indian meal. Biryani, starters, and other main course dishes were all great. The chicken was properly cooked and good quantity were served. All dishes are served in pots, giving you a great traditional experience.Service:4/5Food:4/5Ambience:3.5/5Photo Credits: Arnab Datta
Planned a few hours trip to Coimbatore and I knew I'll have time for some leisure breakfast. A year and half back when my friend and me visited Coimbatore there wasn't any Non Vegetarian Breakfast places available or at least we couldn't find one). This time around Google threw 2 names Ammayi Veedu and Aghaaram. Ammayi Veedu has been a name I've been hearing recently in the food circle and I decided to check it out for Breakfast over Aghaaram after a quick consultation with my friend Kovai Neram.<br/ <br/ Tantalizing Non Vegetarian Menu and I've to say the breakfast there was most satisfactory with native Kongu flavours in the dishes, I ordered. Idly with a Non Vegetarian gravy was on cards for sure. Paired Idly ₹15/pc) with Mutton Chops ₹120) and Kal Dosai ₹30/pc) with Nenju Elumbu Kuzhambu ₹190). The former had an edge over the latter, maybe because it was more spicier and went well with the Idly combination. Whatever the reason, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Naatu Kozhi Uppu Kari ₹250) reminded me how much I'd missed Coimbatore and it's native flavours. I wish I had more appetite to finish just that dish alone all by myself. It was outstanding in taste.<br/ <br/ Washed down all of the above with the help of a Nannari Paneer Soda ₹22/bottle).
A super great place for my favourite fish curry! I enjoy it with meals in the case of lunch or idli in the case of dinner. Kari dosai here is also good! You wouldn't want to miss the continental mutton dishes here. They taste so good! They are specialists in traditional chettinad cuisine in mud pots!If you're coming here for briyani, sorry, this is not the place for you
