October visit. Interesting paintings and different styles. Pleasant people working there. But I would like to point out a few problems for those with mobility issues. The main car park has thick large gravel and mobility scooter walker would not cope with it. There are a few spaces near the house entrance. The paths to the disabled toilet and cafe are rough slabs with 1inch gaps so also not good use the grass instead. Hardly any chose of food in cafe ie sandwich or cake because the museum shuts in October. The cafe is separate to the house and in the grounds. I enjoyed the visit but had a fit man with me or would have been a wasted 1 hour journey to get there
I had afternoon tea on the outdoor patio. The food and service were both fantastic.
After visiting the Munnings Museum and viewing the paintings, we decided to have some tea. Located in the garden of the house is The Garden Café, which offers a selection of delicious tea and coffee, homemade cakes, and scones. We tried the ginger cake, made by the hostess herself, which was light and full of flavor. We also enjoyed a cheese scone with butter and onion chutney. My husband had cider while I opted for Earl Grey tea, which was served in a generous pot. The café also serves baked potatoes and quiche. The open air seating area under an awning overlooks fields and during our visit, we even saw two horses grazing nearby. The café is only open during the summer months and provides a peaceful spot to enjoy a refreshment in a tourist destination.
I visited a fascinating small art gallery located in the home of artist AJ Munmings.
