This is a super little cafe with a great menu in the middle of Britain's First (and Most Recent City. The staff are always so friendly and the food is good. Lovely and warm inside in the winter but if you are are lucky enough to grab a seat in the tiny courtyard at the front, you have great views of the Saxon tower of Trinity Street church. The area is full of history. Ask about William Gilberd, the father of magnetism, or John Wilby, the madrigals writer, who is buried in the churchyard.
Good quality Greek food, although I had hoped for fresh figs in the fig and goats cheese salad, the dried figs were nice enough. My boyfriend enjoyed his stew but had hoped for more meat in the little dish. The little garden is cute.
Cafe med put on the most wonderful 3 course dinner last night for our private work party (16 of us). Stunning sharing platters, the meat was divine! As was the pudding. Staff are brilliant. A must visit in the centre of Colchester. Welcoming and comfortable cafe, you will not be disappointed.
Very friendly staff, grateful atmosphere and brilliantly cooked lovely tasting food. Great inside and outside and has some traditional music to set the mood.
