Sandbar - COLD SPRING HARBOR

Our waiter Cole was awesome. The food was very good. We had tuna tartar, shrimp cocktail, and spinach dip for apps. All delish. The fish and chips were great. Turkey burger was reported good by my son. The lobster roll was also delicious , maybe could've been a bit bigger. All in all, lovely experience

Food was excellent services great however the patrons dress code has something to be desired. The woman sitting next to us had on a crocheted cover-up from the beach. Many men had on just T-shirts and shorts. I thought that for an upscale restaurant a more smart casual Dress code would be in place maybe I'm just getting old

An outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Ingredients were top quality and so fresh. Had the crab crakes, lobster roll, and s'mores crème brûlée. Marco was the best fine dining server I have ever had—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering. Sandbar continues to be the gold standard for impeccable food and service.

I hate leaving negative reviews but I 've been waiting for the manager to contact me as promised by Marco and I can no longer wait. I made a 7pm reservation for 3 and told them in the comment section it was a special occasion Wife 's birthday . I then contacted the restaurant 4 hours before our reservation to confirm they knew it was a special occasion and asked them to bring out a dessert with a candle on it to celebrate. The person I spoke with told me that there was NO NEED to contact them to let them know about her birthday since I had already let them know in the comment section through OpenTable. She assured me there was no need to worry since they saw the comment. I asked how busy they were that evening and she said they only had 63 reservations so not that busy. I asked if she can sit us at a nice table. She said she 'd make a note of it. We arrived 10 minutes early and we were asked if we had a reservation. I said yes and gave them my name. They sat us down right away and then it took nearly 25 minutes for our drink order to come. The waiter apologized and said there was some traffic at the bar... We then ordered our food once the waiter came out with our drinks. 30 minutes later, still no food but the waiter came out to confirm if I had ordered the steak sandwich or the entree. 20 minutes later food finally came out. After we finished we were offered dessert. And then dessert came with no candle to celebrate the occasion as promised. My mother-in-law was very upset so she excused herself to speak with the waiter and let him know. They then brought out the EXACT dessert we just ate with a candle on it and apologized when they placed it on the table. Overall, dinner and dessert for 3 people took 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waiter and he said that the manager is aware and will contact me to somehow make it right. Since that hasn 't happened, I won 't be returning. I wish I never tipped them.

Great presentation. Halibut delish- doesn't belong on cold tasteless noodles. Next time I would get that over HOT white rice. Pizza wasn't great. Def some improvement needed to keep people committed to coming back.
