Ordered vegetable pakora, Garlic nan and chips. Five small portions of very salty pakoras. Rotten. Garlic nan must have been cooked in an ordinary oven. Bland, stodgy and tasteless. I was unable to eat any of it. Chips were tasteless as well. A total waste of money. Spice spot, Rotten spot. Makes my stomach churn at the thought of it.
When first under new ownership and rebranded as Spice Spot, we were so disappointed in the flavour that we didn’t return for a couple years. Tonight, I accidentally ordered from Spice Spot (clicked on the wrong Indian takeaway in my Contacts! and, despite my very low expectations, we were pleasantly surprised! Food hack: the best way to augment any eating experience at an Indian eatery is to request all meat be Tikka meat (that is, marinated 24 hours . This could’ve helped make the difference tonight, but I also suspect they’ve improved their recipes. Either way, they are back in my good books. Ordered Chicken Tikka Dupiaza, Ch Tikka Korma, and Ch Tikka Garlic Masala. All great.
Paid £35 for 3 meals with chicken. There was only about half a chicken breast across all 3 meals. Basically we got sauce with our rice chips. Will NOT be back!!!
Highly recommend Indian Ocean takeaway we ate here a few times during our stay in portrush we ordered curries, kebabs and kids menu all were amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful even when they get an order for 7 adults and 6 kids. All food ordered was present which was a surprise when the order was so large. Definitely a stop while in portrush you won't be disappointed
