Feedback gevenI dined here last night and ordered takeout from the bar. I was not satisfied with the service because the waiter added an extra $20 as a tip for herself, which I consider unprofessional and dishonest. I'm really disappointed because I was beginning to like this place, but now I can't see myself returning.
To my surprise, the waitress seemed upset that I was dining alone. She didn’t want to serve me, and as soon as I finished my meal, she rushed me out, saying someone else was waiting for the table. I was only there for about 30 minutes! Despite tipping her before she came over to hurry me along, I couldn’t help but feel frustrated. I waited just like everyone else, yet I was being rushed while other patrons were leisurely chatting. Additionally, my food was not up to the usual standards, which was another letdown. I politely got up and left, but it’s disappointing to be treated that way as a paying customer. I just don’t understand why I was made to feel unwelcome when I made an effort to support the business. It's really disheartening.
The atmosphere was a lively blend of a sports bar and nightclub, featuring hip hop music and some entertaining dance performances.
The service was horrible, probably due to being short staffed, but it wasn't that busy. The guy taking our order asked us 3 times about our instead of just writing it down. We had a long while for our drunk, and when it came, mine was incorrect. I went and asked the bartender could she fix it and was told no, I must wait for my waiter, which took another 15 minutes. The atmosphere is great music and dj was good. The fried green tomatoes and Southside egg rolls were very good. But baby, I'm from Chicago. Harolds put the mild sauce on the chicken for a reason. I asked if they could do it and was told sauce is on the table, and then she argued it is no difference. The sauce did not taste like the Chicago mild sauce, and the chicken was fried too hard... If you are going to use the name, the sauce makes up part of the name . Go take a trip to the Chi and go to one of the original Harold's in the city, not the suburbs.
Staff walked past us didn't acknowledge us, waited on others who came in after us, it took about 18 minutes to get waited on, asked security for manager who never came but finally got a server. We also observed several staff members holding personal conversations, smoking the hookahs, and ignoring the customers entering the establishment. This clearly shows poor customer service. We (our party of ladies) see that 18% gratuity is added in all checks. So the mind set of these, waitresses, waiters, barmaids are so off track of serving your guest. And it's sad to say your quality of service suffers greatly!!!
