Walk On's Sports Bistreaux Gonzales

My daughter and I visited today to support the A&M Volleyball Team, and we want to thank you for hosting this event! I really appreciate the family-friendly atmosphere at Walk-Ons; it's our favorite spot for watching sports. Events like this make it feel even more special! Plus, the food is great and the company is wonderful! Thank you!

I had a great experience at this restaurant! I really enjoyed the pasta and shrimp, and the margaritas were excellent. The decor created a nice atmosphere, and the vibe was wonderful. The manager was very friendly, and the host was great as well. Our waitress was a bit cold, but overall, we had a really good time there.

The rating was primarily affected by the service, which left something to be desired. It felt like we didn’t receive the attention we warranted. We understand that there were only two bartenders working, but one of them came off as somewhat rude. When we requested plastic utensils, it took over five minutes for them to be brought to us. When we inquired with one of the staff members, she mentioned that the other bartender had gone to fetch them, but it seemed like an excuse when she said she couldn’t leave the bar. What do you think about that response? The bar was nearly full, but still manageable. On a positive note, the Hickory burger was outstanding in both presentation and flavor, and the Tuscan chicken, mashed potatoes, and greens were also quite tasty.

I rated this restaurant 4 stars primarily because I've been there several times and have noticed that the quality of food can decline when they’re especially busy. However, on all my other visits, I’ve been very pleased with the quality and consistency of the food, as well as the ease of swapping sides. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is well-maintained. Additionally, I believe this is the only place in Bryan/College Station that serves alligator!

The duck and andouille sausage gumbo is outstanding—it’s well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice and a rich roux that perfectly complements the duck and sausage. The boom boom shrimp is delightful, offering a good kick without being overloaded with sauce, and there are at least a dozen medium-sized shrimp in the bowl. The atmosphere is great as well, with plenty of TVs displaying different games and sports shows for entertainment.
