Cafe Patisserie Dussourd - Colmar

We wanted a nice lunch for our last day in France and was highly disappointed. We both ordered a steak with cream/mushroom sauce and chips. We asked for the steak medium and I showed a message explaining my severe nut allergy to the waiter. He said no problem and left. When our food came the steak was not only well-done, but super dry and there was no mushroom sauce, when enquiring he said the steak was “French” medium and that the sauce wasn’t safe for my nut allergy. I would’ve liked to know that I couldn’t have the sauce as I would have ordered something else. I wasn’t offered any alternative or a discount. The waiter clearly didn’t care about us and would not even look at us whilst talking. Overall this was a bad experience and I would never return

We chose one of the two main courses offered that day. .....cod in a Hollandaise sauce with rice, accompanied by Christmas beer and fruit juice. The cod was very good, and the Christmas beer excellent. Service was superbly efficient since the cafe was crowded. We sat outside with blankets near an overhead heater...a delightful Christmas Market lunch at one of the better Christmas markets in the area.

We were looking for a late lunch and were not disappointed, our waiter actually wanted to speak English and was very helpful, the food was good but not good enough to warrant an “excellent”. The position is good for taking in the local scene. Well worth a visit. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent service. Our waitress was most helpful with the menu and patient with our English. Great for coffee and dessert or a quick beverage. They also have coffee on the go here.

Une petite faim. Accueil très sympathique, vraiment chaleureux, c'est d'ailleurs ce que je retiendrai en priorité de cet endroit. J'ai pris une salade de gésiers de poulet avec crudités, et une forêt noire. Le tout était vraiment bon. Pour une addition raisonnable. Vraiment, il n'y a rien à demander de plus, et je suis toujours surpris de voir des commentaires très sévères, qui, au vu de mon expérience, me semblent sinon injustifiés, au moins exagérés. Certes, il y a tellement d'autres lieux de restauration à essayer dans Colmar, mais c'est un endroit où je m’arrêterai volontiers à nouveau.
